In Khon Kaen Province, Thailand, Tan would often hang out at Ton Tan Market and approach visitors for food. Unfortunately, one day her back leg got caught in a wire tied to a pile of garbage near the dormitory. A compassionate man helped free her from the wire, but after that incident, Tan became wary of people and wouldn’t let anyone come near her. As time went by, the wire tightened around her leg joints, causing a deep wound that was infected and emitting a foul odor. In addition, Tan was pregnant and her babies were growing inside her every day.
Numerous individuals felt sorry for the poor dog’s condition and wondered if she would be capable of caring for a baby if she gave birth. Being alone with a limp, life was already challenging for her. Fortunately, The ARK Chiangmai was contacted to come to her aid. They removed the wire binding her legs and provided first aid. Concerned about the baby in her womb, they took her for a physical examination. The x-ray revealed that Tan Tan was pregnant with as many as eight babies and her body was generally healthy. However, her leg wound had become infected and had caused damage to tendons and nerves. The veterinarian recommended allowing the wound to heal before making any further decisions. Everyone hoped and prayed that Look Tan wouldn’t need to have her leg amputated.
Taking care of the body is crucial for a mother-to-be. It’s necessary to tend to any leg injuries and ensure proper nutrition to maintain strength. Judging by the size of the womb and X-ray results, it seems likely that Tan Tan will be welcoming a new addition to the family soon.
