Lionel Messi’s son displays some impressive football skills, proving that he has inherited his father’s talent. Four-year-old Mateo showed off his abilities while playing in the backyard, clearly taking after his famous dad.

It appears that Messi’s four-year-old son Mateo has inherited his father’s skill in scoring goals. A recent video captured Mateo expertly striking the ball into the top corner from a distance, followed by a celebratory run and a clinical finish. The clip seems to have been filmed in Messi’s backyard in Spain, where there is a mini football pitch. Mateo seems to have picked up some moves from his dad, as he celebrates just like Messi after scoring his first goal.
Messi Jr celebrates his goal by kissing both hands and raising them up in the air. He then rushes towards the camera before putting his finger to his lips in a hushing gesture. His second goal is even more Messi-like, as he dribbles the ball from the halfway line before shooting low into the corner. He then falls to the ground, clutching his face as if he’s been tackled. One notable difference from his dad is that Mateo is mainly right-footed, as eagle-eyed fans may observe.
Mateo mimicked his dad by placing his finger on his lips. It’s possible that Mateo could even be learning from another top talent, Cristiano Ronaldo. Messi’s longtime rival recently suggested that the two should have dinner together, to which the Argentine responded positively. Messi expressed, “Yes, I don’t have any issue with that.”
.
“I have always mentioned that I don’t have any issues with him. While we may not be close friends as we have never shared a dressing room, I do see him at award shows and there are no problems between us.
I am not sure if there will be a dinner as our paths may not cross for obvious reasons, as we both have our own lives and commitments.
However, I would definitely accept the invitation if it comes my way.”
Perhaps Mateo and Ronaldo’s son Cristiano Jr could join their fathers in a spontaneous game of two-on-two in the backyard to end the evening’s entertainment.
