As he fled from the hunters who were firing at him, he stumbled down the hill and fell near the river. He lay there for days, scared and in agony. Despite being next to the river, he was unable to move or drink water due to hunger and thirst. The cold prevented him from even getting any sleep. A report was received by Fahrudin Caki Bravo and other shelter volunteers about a dog in dire straits along the riverbank. They quickly mobilized and headed to the location to offer assistance.
Just picture the fear and agony that this unfortunate creature must have experienced when they began targeting him! It’s truly heartbreaking to think of his hunger and thirst on top of it all.
The veterinary team worked tirelessly to save Cuko’s life. Miraculously, after six long days, Cuko is still alive and determined to keep on living. Unfortunately, he is now left with a disability due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Someone had shot him with buckshot and fled the scene, leaving him to suffer the consequences.
According to the veterinarian, the upcoming days will focus on improving the physical strength of the animal. Then, they will assess if it is possible to perform the surgery to extract the buckshot from its spine and determine if there is a possibility for the animal to walk again.
As of now, it is certain that we are determined to assist him with the same level of dedication he has towards staying alive. We have witnessed firsthand the enormity of his desire to survive, and it only strengthens our resolve to aid him in any way possible.
